Monarchist National Party - PNM
The Monarchist National Party was an Italian political party, founded in June 1946, by the confluence of the Liberal National Democratic Focus (CNDL) and other smaller formations monarchy. First Secretary was Alfredo Covelli.
On June 2, 1954, following a split within the PNM, was founded the People's Monarchist Party (PMP), led by Achille Lauro.
On 11 April 1959, the PMP and the PNM will reunite giving life to the Italian Democratic Party (PDI), which on March 7 1961 changed its name to the Italian Democratic Party of Monarchist Unity (PDIUM).

The People's Monarchist Party (PMP) was an Italian political party, founded June 2, 1954, at the initiative of the Achille Lauro, following a split within the National Monarchist Party ( PNM).
Conflicts arose from the fact that Lauro was intended as an objective the search for an agreement with the Christian Democrats (DC) for the formation of a center-right majority government, he thought also needed to consolidate its local power (especially in Naples ), while the Party Secretary Alfredo Covelli was oriented a stabilire alleanze a destra con il Movimento Sociale Italiano (MSI).
Inoltre Lauro, ricco armatore navale, non intendeva più finanziare con il proprio patrimonio un partito di cui non aveva il pieno controllo.
Alle elezioni politiche del 1958 il PMP ottenne un risultato migliore del PNM, con il 2,6% dei voti alla Camera (e con 14 deputati e 5 senatori), contro il 2,2% del rivale (con 11 deputati e 2 senatori).
Dopo quella data, sfumata anche la speranza del PMP di inserirsi nell'area governativa, iniziò un progressivo riavvicinamento dei due partiti monarchici, che si concluse nel 1959 con la loro unificazione nel Partito Democratico Italiano (PDI), divenuto poi, nel 1961, Partito Democratico Italiano di Unità Monarchist (PDIUM).

On July 10, 1972, the National Council of PDIUM decided the dissolution of the party and joins the Italian Social Movement - National Right (MSI-DN).
